First Presbyterian Preschool Staff

DIRECTOR

Sandra Ybarra

Sandra Ybarra has been the director at First Presbyterian Preschool for five years.

She has a bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences and is working on a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, both from the University of North Texas.  She was previously an assistant director in Dallas and managed her own home preschool in Austin while raising her four kids.

Ms. Sandra loves the amazing questions children ask, the way they look at life and their impressive dance skills.  She is honored to be part of their milestones.

When she’s not at school, Ms. Sandra is riding her bike, walking her dogs and spending time with family.  She also likes to swing dance, refinish furniture and repurpose things.

One of her biggest joys is the amazing community she leads at FPPS.

OFFICE MANAGER

Cynthia Devin

Cynthia Devin is the office manager at First Presbyterian Preschool.

She has three children and one grandchild.  Her youngest daughter started out a few days a week at FPPS, but as time went on, she begged to go to school more often, even on weekends!  Ms. Cynthia started volunteering then and has been here ever since.

Her favorite things about the school are seeing the kids smile when they accomplish something new – and walking into a classroom and hearing the children yell, “Hi Ms. Cynthia!”

In her free time, Ms. Cynthia likes to sew, craft and bake.

Carmel McIntosh is our Pre-K teacher.

Originally from the Caribbean, she and her family relocated to Brookly, New York, when she was 19. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Children and Youth Studies from Brooklyn College.

In 2015, she and her husband wanted to relocate to a quieter place with some heat – so they chose Red Oak!  She likes to garden there and is quite often working on a furniture project or hanging out with her two school-age sons.

Ms. Carmel enjoys her students’ curiosity, energy, honesty and thinks they’re just plain funny. She believes the small setting at First Presbyterian Preschool allows them the opportunity to showcase their talents, explore and be themselves.
